Men’s skincare is as essential as any other part of grooming. Whether they are caused by lacking sleep, stress, allergies, or genetics, puffy eyes can distort your appearance. Having puffy eyes is not only uncomfortable, but it can also knock your confidence and make you feel self-conscious. Here are some natural remedies that men can use to get rid of puffy eyes and dark circles.
- Chilled spoons
Your set of spoons can come in handy for more than a great mealtime. If you have woken up with swollen puffy eyes that you don’t wish to go out into the world with, Chill two medium-sized spoons in a refrigerator for a few minutes. After they have achieved an optimally cold temperature, place the backside of each spoon over your closed eyes. Do this while lying down for maximum comfort and effectiveness. After about 10 minutes, blood vessels around your eyes should have constricted from the coolness of the spoons, and your eyes should be less puffy.
- Sliced potatoes
Potatoes are famous for anti-inflammatory and skin lightening enzymes. Cut potato slices of medium thickness and place them over each eye for 10 minutes. You can repeat the process with fresh slices until the puffiness of your under eyes has reduced. When done, wash the eye area and massage with coconut oil to restore moisture.
- Egg whites
Egg whites are often incorporated into a natural face mask for youthful skin. They work as a natural astringent which tightens skin. To use as a remedy for puffy eyes, whisk two egg whites until smooth. You can chill them for a minute or two and then apply to the under-eye with the middle or index finger. Leave it for five to ten minutes and wash off when you feel a tightening effect.
- Green tea bags
The antioxidants present in green tea are not only useful for your digestive system and internal organs but your skin as well. Moreover, it has anti-inflammatory properties that treat swelling. Soak two green tea bags for a few minutes and place them under the eye for about 20 minutes. This should significantly reduce puffiness in the eye area.
